Pratt & Whitney has announced plans to invest at least $ 650 million by 2027 in world-class aerospace turbine blade manufacturing. In the new plant with an area of almost 100 thousand square meters, there will be a modern foundry for the production of turbine blade profiles, as well as machines for machining, coating and finishing these profiles on site.

According to Chris Calio, president of Pratt & Whitney – the investment will enable further modernization of the plant located in Asheville and additional transformation of the business with the use of the most modern technologies available today. The market will recover in the next few years. We must invest today to provide the infrastructure, production capacity and manpower to meet future market demands and provide the best products to our customers around the world.

The investment is expected to create 800 new jobs by 2027. The new plant will implement best-in-class manufacturing technologies and processes, based on Industry 4.0 production, and will complement the existing turbine blade manufacturing work at Pratt & Whitney.
