Reliable and durable in the harshest of environments
VMT9000 vehicle terminals are designed for use in the harshest of environments in logistics and on agricultural and construction machinery. The terminals are available in both 4:3 and widescreen formats. To meet different customer requirements, ADS-TEC offers the vehicle mounted terminals in 10.4, 12.1 and 15 inch sizes. The devices can be equipped with resistive industrial or capacitive multi-touch screens. The sunlight readable display allows easy readability in any location, even in limited light conditions. The touch screen itself has IK09 specifications and is thus extremely shatterproof.
Due to the wide input voltage range of 12–48 VDC, the customer can use vehicles with different voltage supplies without needing a separate power supply unit or voltage converter.
Intel® Apollo Lake processors ensure performance and long-term availability for demanding tasks. A UPS function ensures uninterrupted work, with the battery lasting for at least one hour. A proximity sensor is integrated for driver detection, which automatically dims the display when the driver leaves, optimising energy consumption. RFID user recognition secures the terminals against unwanted access to all data.
Poor transmission and reception conditions are a well-known problem in the industry. If the standard internal WLAN antennas are not sufficient, the VMT9000 solves this problem with the additional option of connecting an external WLAN antenna. Furthermore, the VMT9000 already supports the new WiFi6 WLAN standard and WPA3 encryption technology. Compared to WiFi5 (IEEE 802.11 ac), this allows a much more stable and secure connection.
Windows 10, Linux, or IGEL—the ADS-TEC terminal is compatible and thus completely independent of the customer’s IT strategy.
Holistic approach—the ADS-TEC modular solution with firewall and IIoT cloud
Together with an ADS-TEC firewall and the IIoT service platform Big-LinX, any type of machinery and equipment can be seamlessly networked. The solution enables comprehensive functions such as fast remote maintenance, data analysis via dashboards or predictive maintenance via alarming. All components are 100% developed in-house and in Germany and meet the highest security standards thanks to the smartcard-based security concept—IT Security Made in Germany.
At LogiMAT, ADS-TEC will be exhibiting a new generation of high-end firewalls in addition to the proven IRF1000 firewall: the IRF3000 series. Compared to the IRF1000, the IRF3000 series supports complex networks with multiple subnets and offers significantly more computing power for demanding IoT edge applications using Docker virtualisation.
In addition to the firewalls, ADS-TEC also offers a software client called IIoT Client to network machines and plants. The client can be installed on Windows-based PCs or HMIs such as the VMT9000 and enables a secure remote connection via VPN, including remote desktop control. In addition, various process data can also be recorded and stored in the cloud.
