In an era of radical change driven by the energy transition and increasing pressure to decarbonize industry, Flukar is emerging as a leading center of technological innovation in the processing and regeneration of petroleum products in Central and Eastern Europe. At the heart of the plant is one of the most advanced installations for regenerating used oils in this part of the continent, serving as tangible proof that petrochemical waste can become a fully valuable resource in the production cycle.

Flukar is redefining industrial standards by transforming the traditional linear model into an advanced Circular Economy. A key pillar of this strategy is giving “second life” to critical resources such as used oils. Through advanced regeneration processes, these wastes lose their negative environmental impact, undergoing multi-stage technological treatments that separate, purify, and transform them into fully valuable components for modern lubricants.
Implementing the 3R strategy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) is an essential element of responsible environmental management.

Instead of disposal, the company focuses on recycling and reusing materials, significantly reducing the carbon footprint of its products. This approach aligns with the concept of industrial upcycling, where the value of recovered raw materials is maximized through modern, innovative technological processes. Flukar not only helps eliminate the potential environmental threat of illegal oil waste storage but also drastically reduces the demand for primary raw materials.

The foundation of the company’s rigorous research activities is its own Research and Development Center, accredited by the Polish Center for Accreditation. Operating as a modern, eco-friendly company is not only about recovery but, above all, about continuously exploring new technological horizons. Investments and R&D work enable optimization of chemical process efficiency, resulting in increasingly superior quality parameters of finished products while simultaneously reducing negative environmental impact. Current research includes the selection and refining of petroleum fractions, development of pioneering biodegradable lubricant formulations, and strategic implementation of the circular economy across all company segments.

Energy Transition 2026: Trends and Prospects

In light of current EU taxonomy requirements and ESG reporting, Flukar’s business model is becoming a benchmark for the heavy industry sector. The European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) 2020/852 (Taxonomy) supports ecological transformation by guiding investments toward financially sustainable activities. Meanwhile, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) acts as an “eco-passport,” providing a clear report on a company’s actual environmental impact. It holistically examines a company’s operations, ESG data, and management strategies, illustrating the true environmental footprint left by the enterprise.

This approach ensures transparent scrutiny of business activities, eliminating greenwashing. Standardized reporting gives certified credibility to pro-environmental actions. Hard, transparent data are becoming the key to entering major supply chains. Under CSRD,
a company’s carbon footprint can become as important as its invoice amounts. Reporting also compels thorough risk analysis, enabling companies to prepare for crises before they occur.

The year 2026 marks a critical moment in reporting, as large companies (over 250 employees) will publish their first CSRD reports for 2025. Reporting must comply with unified EU standards, and every ESG report undergoes mandatory audit and verification. Increasingly, major corporations require emissions data from suppliers to calculate their own metrics (Supply Chain Pressure). Having an assessed carbon footprint is gradually becoming a prerequisite for participating in tenders or obtaining bank financing.

Next-Generation Industry

Flukar continuously seeks new solutions aligned with sustainable development and the circular economy, proactively anticipating market trends. As a modern enterprise, the company emphasizes energy independence and resilience, investing in high-efficiency thermal processing systems for hazardous waste with energy recovery. The implementation of zero-emission transformation occurs across multiple operational levels, with decarbonization through hazardous waste recycling becoming a cornerstone of eco-friendly activity. Simultaneously eliminating waste that could negatively impact the environment and converting it into a high-quality oil base generates up to an 80% lower carbon footprint compared to traditional base oil production.

As part of digital transformation, Flukar’s R&D Center has implemented an advanced LIMS system in the laboratory. This change represents not only a modern process approach but also a conscious, tangible foundation for the company’s sustainable development strategy. By eliminating unnecessary paper documentation, the company effectively reduces its carbon footprint and optimizes resources. Currently, the system is used internally to provide a unified, transparent method of controlling the quality of raw materials, intermediates, and finished products. Plans are underway to offer the platform to external clients, featuring an intuitive interface where users can manage the research proces – from sample submission, selection of specific analyses, to receiving results online.

Flukar has developed optimized testing packages to facilitate decision-making regarding key parameters relevant to a given issue. For example, industrial lubricant monitoring packages allow evaluation of a product’s operational status, determining whether it is fully functional, requires filtration, or is ready for replacement. The company’s approach – “analyze, monitor, give second life”- reflects responsible, conscious industrial practices.

In Flukar’s R&D unit, waste is assessed before acceptance for processing, and every product with potential for reprocessing and reuse undergoes thorough analysis. Another example of ESG-aligned activity is the Flukar 360 service, which manages the complete lifecycle of coolants. A specialized team of engineers and diagnosticians combines continuous quality monitoring with systematic cleaning, topping, and replacement, significantly extending both product and machinery lifespan. This approach maximizes the potential of industrial fluids, reduces waste, and lowers carbon footprint. Beyond cost optimization, it is further proof of the company’s sustainable development strategy.

Flukar is a dynamic Polish company where advanced engineering meets responsible climate action. Continuous pursuit of new technological solutions – from advanced distillation to the development of innovative, biodegradable lubricants – positions the company as a strategic partner for European industry striving for climate neutrality.
