Metso and Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları A.Ş. have finalized an agreement to deliver a comprehensive gold ore processing plant for the Phase II development of the Soğut gold project, located in Bilecik province, Türkiye. The total value of the order is estimated at approximately EUR 70 million.

The equipment orders will be booked in Metso’s Minerals segment upon activation of the contracts, anticipated by December 2024 or January 2025.

The Phase II plant will integrate some of Metso’s most advanced technologies and equipment, tailored to ensure maximum efficiency and performance in gold processing. Key elements of the delivery include:

Nordwheeler Jaw Crushing Unit for efficient ore comminution.
Select SAG and Ball Mills for optimized grinding.
TankCell Flotation Cells of various sizes to enhance gold recovery.
HRT High Rate Thickening Units and Larox PF Pressure Filters for effective slurry management.
Cutting-edge Courier 8X SL Analyzer, PSI Particle Size Analyzers, and samplers for real-time monitoring and control.
The Proscon Automation System to ensure seamless plant operations.

Metso’s scope of delivery also includes full plant engineering, advisory services for installation and commissioning, and comprehensive training to support plant operation.

Metso has worked closely with Gübretaş Maden Yatırımları A.Ş. to develop an optimized flowsheet tailored to the Soğut deposit. “We are proud to contribute to the success of this project. Basic engineering for the plant and gold pressure oxidation is already complete, and we look forward to continuing this partnership with equipment deliveries and ongoing support during Phase II,” stated Mert Katkay, Regional Minerals Sales Director at Metso.
