GXO Logistics has announced a new agreement with Reflex Robotics to pilot the implementation of Reflex’s robotics solution in existing operations. This is GXO’s second Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) agreement.
The Reflex robot is an off-the-shelf solution that achieves operational capability within 60 minutes of deployment, with the ability to achieve full autonomy by learning from human demonstration of the process. The multi-functional Reflex humanoid can seamlessly switch between performing different repetitive tasks such as: handling containers, supporting automation solutions or picking products.
We are looking forward to working with Reflex to develop applications for the Reflex robot for various tasks in our warehouses, said Adrian Stoch, Director of Automation at GXO. Through our Operational Incubator programme, we are implementing the latest technology solutions that create new value for our customers, our business and our people.
GXO uses its Operational Incubator programme to work closely with leading developers to validate practical use cases in a warehouse that serves as an experimental laboratory. With Reflex Robot, GXO is participating in the development of a range of applications at various stages of the logistics processes in a pilot run in a warehouse providing multi-channel order processing for a Fortune 100 retailer. The long-term goal of the contract is to deploy Reflex Robot on a large scale in GXO’s operations, increasing warehouse throughput and enabling GXO employees to perform more rewarding tasks.
Ritesh Ragavender, CEO of Reflex Robotics, said: “We are delighted that GXO, a leading provider of automated logistics solutions, is partnering with us to implement its strategy. We have learnt a lot from working on site with the GXO team and have accelerated the production of our robots to support picking and order fulfilment processes and improve service quality.
