CEVA Logistics is deploying two autonomous transport robots at its vehicle logistics (FVL) centre in Nanteuil-le-Haudouin, France.

From September 2025, the two units will be responsible for managing the movement of vehicles in a dedicated and secure zone, covering 2,000 of the 8,000 available parking spaces.

Their tasks include the transportation of vehicles from the delivery area to the designated parking areas, as well as the organisation of traffic within the yard, including the precise positioning of cars on the loading lanes of the auto-transporters. The company performs thousands of movement operations per month.

As Thomas Maître, head of product development for Finished Vehicle Logistics at CEVA, points out: The implementation of STRADOT robots is in line with our strategic objective of enhancing efficiency in finished vehicle logistics operations. This underscores the pivotal role of technology in optimising productivity and operational value.

STRADOT robots are designed to facilitate the efficient utilisation of space by enabling vehicles to be lifted and manoeuvred along parked cars, thus reducing the need for additional aisles. Pilot tests conducted in May 2024 at Loyette demonstrated considerable efficiency enhancements and the potential to minimise the carbon footprint through the use of electric propulsion.

José Iriarte, CEO and co-founder of STRADOT, comments: “Our collaboration with CEVA demonstrates the transformative impact of robotics on the logistics sector. The project will deliver significant value and optimise the use of space.”

STRADOT, headquartered in Toulouse and Salta, is a specialist in solutions for high-density environments. Their award-winning transport system has applications not only in FVL, but also in fleet management, industrial logistics and airport car parks.
