Modern production automation is not only about efficiency; it also requires precision and care when handling products. Due to its specific requirements, the food sector is increasingly turning to solutions that combine efficiency with strict hygiene standards and careful handling of products. One example of this approach is a project implemented by Hitmark Robotics in collaboration with Bosch Rexroth: a modern line for palletizing dairy products.
This project uses the VarioFlow 320 transport system with a smooth chain from Bosch Rexroth.
This modern, quiet, modular chain conveyor system is ideal for transporting light and medium loads. It is highly flexible, with universal heads and modular drive sets that allow the motor mounting position to be selected freely. Thanks to low friction, the system enables the creation of long conveyor sections with a single drive. This results in reduced wear and tear, shorter downtime, lower operating costs, and a longer service life.
There is a wide range of aluminium and stainless steel variants available in six widths (from 65 to 320 mm) and seven types of chain, with a transport speed of up to 120 m/min.
The VarioFlow system is designed for the safe transport of sensitive products, making it ideal for industries such as food production, pharmaceuticals, packaging and electronics.
This system minimises the risk of surface damage, which is crucial in the food industry, particularly in the dairy sector. It is ideal for transporting a variety of items regardless of environmental conditions or production characteristics. VarioFlow ensures smooth operation and high reliability while reducing the time needed to complete logistics tasks.
The following products were used in the application:
- 10 conveyors with a total length of approx. 57 metres;
- 10 SEW gear motors;
- 10 active transport bridges;
- and an aluminium single-stage banding system with sliding plastic guides.

The automated preparation of packages for palletizing
Implementing the automated system has brought a number of significant benefits. Firstly, the risk of product damage has been greatly reduced, which is particularly important for delicate dairy products.
Raising the transport height to 2.5 metres has optimised the use of workspace while ensuring freedom of movement for personnel and transport trolleys.
The line is stable and efficient, and thanks to its modular design, it can easily be expanded or adapted to changing production requirements. Integration with Hitmark Robotics’ proprietary automation system enables continuous monitoring of operating parameters and quick changes in format or packaging type without downtime.
The process of preparing packages for palletizing is fully automated, streamlining the entire work cycle. The system groups products and arranges them according to a predefined pattern. The entire system is characterised by a high level of automation, even in difficult industrial conditions.
